Guitars Alive Quartet Thrills Gore Bay Crowd

GORE BAY – Those people who were fortunate enough to attend ‘The Guitars Alive Trio!’ performance were obviously in the company of greatness, as the performance put on by Philip Candelaria, Gary DiSalle, and Paul Dunn, was, in a word, awesome.

“When people from other areas ask ‘What do you people up there on Manitoulin Island do?’, one of the many things we can say we did was go to this concert and experienced an exquisite, professional, relaxing, wonderful evening of music,” stated Barb Culgin, one of the people who filled the Gore Bay Community Hall for the show, held on Wednesday, August 18th. If more people could have been accommodated, more tickets would have been sold as there were many people who were turned down at the door, not having purchased tickets in advance for the show.

“Without leaving Gore Bay, we were transformed musically to the sounds of the Americas, Middle East, as well as Nashville, and back to Sudbury,” stated Ms. Culgin.

The three guitarists teamed up for the concert, with the proceeds going toward supporting the construction of the new Heritage Centre in Gore Bay. …

The three very accomplished guitarists received a standing ovation at the end of the performance and they performed an encore … which really got the crowd singing along.”
